   this is how it works

Established in 1983, The Farmworker Association of Florida (FWAF) is a statewide, grassroots, community-based, non-profit, farmworker membership organization with over 10,000 Haitian, Hispanic, and African American members and five offices in the state of Florida, working for social and environmental justice with farmworkers.

Their guiding vision is a social environment where farmworkers’ contribution, dignity, and worth are acknowledged, appreciated, and respected through economic, social, and environmental justice. This vision includes farmworkers being treated as equals, and not exploited and discriminated against based on race, ethnicity, gender, or immigrant or socioeconomic status.

 project must-knows

This location has only requested help with masks. Please read carefully about the type of masks that they are accepting.

Pandemic Relief: Masks

Adult and children masks (ages 5-12) are accepted in any pattern. (Olson, Craft Passion, Deaconess, Batwing, SSOL, Japanese Sewing Book, Rosie, etc.)

We ask that these masks be 3 layers with the 3rd layer non-woven polypropylene such as Smartfab, Olyfun or Sailrite (or cotton). They will also accept 2 layer masks with filter pockets.

Adjustable elastic ear loops are preferred so your donation will fit any head that receives it. This also makes your mask fit snugger therefore giving it a better seal and making it safer.

The CDC recommends nose wires as do we. We suggest putting them in all masks for persons over the age of 8. We prefer that these are removable so when they break, they can be replaced.
