1) Patriotic Lapghans for Veterans -Our goal is that every Veteran entering Hospice receives a patriotic quilt!

  • Red, white and blue fabric ~ Patriotic colors, Army/Navy/Marines/Air Force fabric. Patriotic panels.

  • Please no glitter or sparkles in your fabric.

  • Sewn Quilts Only.

  • As of 3/12/24 They are not taking knit and crochet. They may resuming taking these later. Check The Remissionaries for current need or hold on to it.

  • not taking no-sew

  • Approximate Lapghan size 36x48"; perfect for folks resting in bed or sitting in a chair.

  • All styles such as Quilts, rag quilts, fleece/flannel/cotton blankets.

  • Also consider making our special Wheelchair Warmer blanket in Patriotic colors.  ðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸ 🇺🇸

  • They are not taking non-patriotic lapghans at this time but this may change at any time. Check The Remissionaries or MHRC for current needs!

2) Wheelchair Warmer Blanket -  Made from fleece and quilting cotton blanket with a kangaroo pocket has cut outs at the bottom to prevent it from getting caught in the wheels. These can be made in any colors you like. They do not need to be Patriotic (but can be if you want). These will be offered to all patients in Hospice and Palliative care.

3) Dignity Covers & Scarves - These are worn so patients can eat and keep their clothes clean yet not feel as if they are wearing a bib.

  • 2 patterns has been requested: Dignity Scarf and Dignity Cover from Upcycled Shirt (flannel or otherwise)

  • For all genders. 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

3) Twiddle Muffs -knit/crochet Twiddle muffs are wonderful at providing a comforting sensory experience. Patients will redirect their fidgeting to the muff.  ðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸ 🇺🇸

4) Fiddle Mats - Sew up these items to help occupy the restless hands and offer comfort to patients. This is an extremely detailed project, please ensure you read our project guidelines thoroughly before beginning, only mats following our guidelines accepted.

6) Wheelchair Shawl - This easy to knit or crochet shawl helps take the chill off of someone as they sit in a wheelchair. It is perfectly shaped to stay on the shoulders.

🇺🇸 Items for Veterans- When you tally your item, you can indicate on the tally sheet that it is an item for a Veteran so we can keep track of how many Veteran themed items they have received. Thank you.
